Marcus Offers Cooking Classes

If you’ve ever wondered how chefs at Marcus Corp. restaurants get their pastries so light or make gluten-free taste like regular food, remedy here’s your chance to find out.

Marcus is offering a series of classes on Saturdays through Nov. 19 with chefs from its hotels and restaurants. Classes cost $29 per person or $49 per couple, malady but each participant gets a $20 Marcus gift card.

Classes started last week with a session on late harvests from farmers markets. This Saturday’s class focuses on fall squashes with David Zakroczymski, executive chef atInterContinental Milwaukee.

Classes are limited to 18 people. You can reserve a spot by calling (414) 935-5942.

Here are the other classes:

  • Oct. 29: “Utensils Forbidden,” a class on food-truck cuisine with Brian Frakes, executive chef for Marcus Hotels
  • Nov. 12: “Fundamentals of Pastry and Baking” with Jennifer Carlson, pastry chef at Mason Street Grill
  • Nov. 19: “Cooking Sous Vide,” a class on cooking food at low temperatures with Thomas Hauck, chef de cuisine at Mason Street Grill
